Microsoft Finance’s vision is focused on how business partnership
leads to outcomes and how we drive impact. Treasury’s Capital
Markets team oversees Microsofts $100B investments, manages risk,
supports corporate financing, and advances sustainability finance.
The team collaborates with senior leaders to help achieve
Microsofts mission and sustainability objectives. We are looking
for an experienced leader to connect our business needs with
Treasury, turning growth and scaling plans into actionable
financing solutions. This person will be responsible for developing
and managing financing strategies that support AI growth and data
center expansion, strengthen supply?chain resilience, and optimize
long?term capital. The position is highly visible and reports
directly to the General Manager of Capital Markets. The ideal
finance expert will be motivated, analytical, results-oriented, and
an excellent communicator. This position calls for someone that is
highly curious with a desire to learn, has advanced technical
skills, solid business judgment, and the capacity to influence
others both inside and outside the company. We value creative
thinking and the ability to design innovative financing strategies
that support growth, flexibility, and working capital. Solutions
must align with program principles for capital optimization,
scalability, risk management, and internal controls.
Responsibilities Business Partnership & Strategic Advisory Enable
business scale by partnering with Cloud, Supply Chain, and Finance
leaders to develop financing strategies that improve capital
efficiency and enable long-term growth. Financing Program Design &
Innovation Design and launch new financing models, structures, and
pathways to enable data center expansion, supply?chain resiliency,
and emerging business needs, balancing cost, flexibility, and risk.
Leasing Strategy & Lessor Engagement Drive strategic relationships
with lessors and financing partners to improve lease economics,
risk allocation, scalability, and contractual terms across existing
and new programs. Capital, Risk, & Balance Sheet Optimization
Structure financing solutions that optimize cost of capital,
liquidity, and balance?sheet outcomes, in alignment with Treasury
risk frameworks and internal controls. Program Governance &
Execution Establish clear governance, execution frameworks, and
performance metrics for financing programs, ensuring consistency,
transparency, and alignment with Treasury and corporate objectives.
Cross?Functional Leadership Collaborate with Accounting, Tax,
Legal, Operations, and Sourcing to ensure financing structures are
executable, compliant, and operationally scalable. Market & Peer
Insight Monitor broader market trends including lessor appetite,
regulatory developments, and peer practices to continuously evolve
financing approaches and identify opportunities for improvement or
innovation. Qualifications Masters Degree in Business
Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or
related field AND 8 years experience in financial analysis,
accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR
Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance,
Economics, Data Science or related field AND 10 years experience in
financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or
related field OR equivalent experience. Preferred: 15 years of
relevant experience in supply chain financing, commercial
banking/lending, credit research, lease structuring, investment
banking, treasury, or equivalent Strong understanding and
development of financial products and solutions (financing
programs, leases, loans, etc.) Proven credit-analysis skills,
including financial-statement modeling and credit-rating frameworks
Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to distill
complex analysis into clear, concise messaging Collaborative
mindset, excellent attention to detail, and a passion for
continuous learning Advanced Excel skills including familiarity
with Copilot Proficiency with Bloomberg, FactSet, or similar
market-data platforms Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) a plus
Financial Analysis IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role
across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $277,200 per year. There is a
different range applicable to specific work locations, within the
San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the
base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 -
$303,600 per year.
