Job Description:
Consultant - People and Organizations (The Boston Consulting
Group, Inc. - Seattle, Washington): Perform consulting services for clients
within the People and Organization Practice Area by designing,
developing, and recommending long-term business strategies in the areas of
employee behavior, target organization model selection, spans and
layers optimization, support function excellence, shared services and
other organization related issues. Specific duties include: ascertain
and define client need or problem area; analyze data regarding
client industries and competitors using primary and secondary
research techniques; analyze markets and market segments using analytical
tools such as competitive cost analysis, customer segmentation
analysis, decision analysis, break-even analysis, activity-based
costing, portfolio assessment, capabilities assessment, and regression
analysis; craft effective corporate governance policies; develop
vertical integration strategies; perform people-related analytics and
design, develop, and recommend innovative strategies that optimize
the organizational effectiveness and efficiency within our
client organizations; evaluate and design corporate portfolio
businesses to maximize shareholder value; prepare and present oral and
written presentations concerning organization and competitive strategy
to senior client management. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in
Business Administration, Management, or related field (willing to accept
foreign education equivalent) plus two (2) years of experience as a
management analyst or business analyst with at least one (1) year of
experience developing or redesigning organizational operating models in
support of work transformation objectives. Specific skills/other
requirements (quantitative experience requirements not applicable to this
section) - must possess the following: (i) applying advanced economic and
financial analysis theories such as competitive cost and decision analysis
and portfolio review based on financial reports; (ii) conducting
advanced analysis of the impact of uncertainties on business outcomes;
(iii) performing research and analysis on organization design topics
including target organization models, role alignment, talent management
and staffing and cooperation mechanisms; (iv) developing
organizational effectiveness programs including layer by layer organization
design, role chartering/job description development, management of a
wider Span of Control and process improvement; (v) human resources data
analytics and organizational data analytics; (vi) organizational
benchmarking and behavioral analysis; and (vii) performing initial assessment and
running standard diagnostics to identify organizational pain points and
assess client organizational structure and functionality. Domestic/international travel required based on company/client
need. Must have unrestricted authorization to work in U.S. M-F, 9:00
