GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:The Project Engineer serves in a key role and is responsible for integration and implementation of Zetron's customsystems solution within our client locations.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage both pre-sale and post-sale technical support activities including, but not limited to, assessment of clientneeds, preparation of product specifications for development and installation.
    • For all projects, create a custom system design based on client requirements and manage all technical aspects of theproject through completion.
      • Serve as liaison between the project management office, development engineering, manufacturing operations andthe client's technical staff.
        • Familiar with the contents of agreements and contracts that pertain to the project under management.
        • Participate in the design review process as required.
        • Provide system level trouble shooting and technical skills with the highest degree of problem solving.
        • Ensure accurate and timely system testing and recording of faults as required by the project.
        • Ensure accurate and timely production of engineering design documentation including, but not limited to, as-builtsystem documentation, client needs assessment, requirements trace matrix, acceptance test procedures, bills ofmaterials, installation and commissioning documents, and detailed upgrade procedures.
          • Accurately maintain project and QA records including, but not limited to, fault records, test result sheets, configuredrecords, and technical documentation.
            • Provide technical expertise to the project manager and the ability to converse with the client, system sales,development engineering, and manufacturing to ensure the client's expectations and technical requirements aremet.
              • Provide detailed task list, labor hour estimates and progress reports, both orally and in writing to the ProjectManager.
                • Development and delivery of all client training.
                • Required to perform the job functions in a safe manner.ADDITIONAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
                  • For an external contract, write the system requirements specification (SRS) for the project.
                  • Attend bid review meetings, as required, and assist in the development of annual budget if requested.
                  • For some projects, serve as Project Engineer/Project Manager providing progress reporting regularly as defined byPMO.
                    • Assign project tasks to other team members and serve as mentor when required. Manage task through successfulcompletion.
                      • Perform other duties as assigned by Company.TRAVEL:About 30%Ability to travel overnightAbility to travel internationallyKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
                        • Extensive knowledge in one or more of the following areas: telecommunication computer networks, inclusive ofdesktop/server operating systems, analog/digital two-way radio and telephony, Layer 2/3 TCP/IP networking, and calltaking systems for public safety first responders and similar applications.
                          • Ability to effectively and professionally communicate, both orally and in writing. Ability to articulate and translatetechnical language to non-technical clients. Influences at all levels across the company within span of control with theability to convey information clearly and accurately.
                            • Proven history of taking accountability for own work and results. Demonstrated ability to form constructive opinionsand defend them.
                              • Consults with clients and teammates to identify all facets of an issue and generate a solution. Understands potentialimpacts to processes and systems across organization and factors these into solutions. Excellent conceptualization,analytical and logic skills.
                                • Extensive experience working in a client-focused environment. Demonstrated ability to assess root issues andprovide excellent viable solutions for the business and to the client.
                                  • Shows initiative and willingness to take calculated risks. Shares opinions in order to reach optimal results.
                                  • Demonstrated experience with Business Analysis tools, including strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; Excel,Visio, PowerPoint, and Project. SharePoint; Excel Services, WorkFlow and other advanced features.
                                    • Must possess and maintain valid Driver's License; Must be able to drive as part of performing job duties.
                                    • Must be willing and able to satisfactorily pass background checks as required, as entry to a customer site may becontingent, by contract, upon the employee passing a drug test and/or ongoing background screen.ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
                                      • Prefer to have skills with critical communication systems; including land mobile radio, dispatch, telephony, IP networkprotocols, and call taking systems for public safety, first responders and similar applications.
                                        • Certifications: CCNA Routing and Switching, CCNA Service Provider, CCNA Wireless, Network+, Security+, ITILFoundations v3, or PMP.
                                          • FCC GMR and/or HAM radio licenses preferred.
                                          • IP data networking fundamentals.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
                                            • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or in a related field preferred.
                                            • Minimum five (5) years of recent and relevant experience in a similar type of role preferably deploying radio,telecommunications, IP networks or large-scale communications systems or any combination of education andexperience that provides equivalent expertise.
