We are looking for a Senior Electronics Component Engineer to join
our team at our Redmond, Washington facility.
The Sr. Electronics Component Engineer will play a key role in the
Electronics organization supporting new and existing space and
defense programs. The candidate will support engineering teams in
the successful planning, design, test, and qualification of
electrical, electronic, electromechanical (EEE) parts and thermal
components. EEE parts and thermal components are integrated into
liquid rocket engines and electronic propulsion systems for
spacecraft and launch vehicle applications.
This current opening may be filled at this level as posted or at
one level higher.
Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each):
- Support design teams in the selection, evaluation, and
documentation of EEE parts and thermal components.
- Create detailed component specifications and drawings.
- Manage customer flow down requirements and navigate industry
and military standards/specifications to ensure component
- Generate Non-Standard Part Approval Requests (NSPARs) and
present them to Parts Control Board (PCB).
- Review and disposition NSPARs submitted by
- Utilize knowledge of EEE parts construction and common failure
mechanisms to develop acceptance and qualification criteria.
- Support EEE and thermal component supplier management
- Work directly with suppliers to understand supplier
capabilities and to communicate custom component requirements.
- Provide oversight of custom part fabrication and test to ensure
compliance to specifications.
- Review data to ensure device compliance with requirements.
- Support resolution of supplier non-conformance issues.
- Lead investigations of failed components and generate failure
investigation reports with recommendations for corrective
actions.Requirements:Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical
Engineering, Physics, or related field and seven (7) years of
experience (or an equivalent combination of education and
Knowledge of industry and military EEE part requirement standards
and specifications including EEE-INST-002, MIL-PRF-19500,
MIL-PRF-38535, MIL-STD-750, and MIL-STD-883.
- Knowledgeable in device or component manufacturing
- Experienced determining failure root cause and developing
corrective and preventative actions to eliminate reoccurrence.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively
communicate with stakeholders.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
