This position may be filled at this level or one level higher.
Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)
Working under close supervision, supports program tasks and
hardware technology development test efforts. The successful
candidate may support both development and production programs.
Among the duties will be customer presentations and submittals, as
well as coordinating activities with internal organizations such as
Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, and Test. Estimated workload
distribution:
20% -Assist with providingengineering support for the production of
high-performance cubesat, monopropellant, and/or bipropellant
rocket engines. This includes requirements management, anomaly
resolution, and anomaly prevention.
20% - Plan and conduct engine hot fire tests and analyze data.
15% - Support component development and qualification, including
supplier oversight and management.
15% - Provide hardware fabrication support, including
nonconformance resolution.
10% - Present results at internal and external meetings.
10% - Conduct performance, fluid dynamics and other engineering
analysis as required in support of trade studies and programs.
10% - Support proposal activities and manage internal research and
development efforts, as necessary.
Requirements
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace
Engineering or related field (or an equivalent combination of
education and experience).
Additional Requirements and Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent writing skills, verbal communication skills, and
experience working in a team environment are required.
Some travel may be required within the United States to Aerojet
Rocketdyne's customers and suppliers.
Experience leading technical teams is preferred.
Experience with rocket engine or cubesat technology development is
preferred.
A solid understanding of applicable engineering principles,
business practices, and experience working directly with hardware
in the aerospace industry is highly desirable.
Experience with monopropellant, bipropellant, and rocket propulsion
systems desired.
Experience working an equivalent engineering environment is
desired.
Requires U.S. Citizenship, U.S. Permanent Residency or other status
as a U.S. Person. Must be able to satisfy federal government
requirements for access to government information and having dual
citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this
requirement.
Being fully vaccinated for COVID-19 may be a condition of

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a
standard office setting and to use standard office equipment,
including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to
detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull
up to 25 pounds; may require minimal walking, climbing, stooping,
crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and
a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person
and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or
auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as
safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be
expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful
operation of activities in the organization.
