Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers our cloud services. As a CO+I Principal Electrical Engineer, you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform.Our infrastructure is comprised of a large global portfolio of more than 100 Datacenters and 1 million servers. Our foundation is built upon and managed by a team of subject matter experts working to support services for more than 1 billion customers and 20 million businesses in over 90 countries worldwide. With environmental sustainability and optimization at the forefront of our Datacenter design and operations, we continue to grow and evolve as we meet the ever-changing business demands that hold Microsoft as a world-class cloud provider.Microsoft is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to shape the future of cloud infrastructure. This person will help drive down cost, improve reliability and produce energy efficient hardware to power the cloud. As part of the Datacenter Integration Services (DCIS) team within Cloud Operations and Innovation, you will work with a small set of systems thinkers who are ready to challenge conventional wisdom and develop breakthrough technologies.CO+I's Datacenter Integration Services (DCIS) team sits at the interface between incoming IT hardware and the datacenter critical environment equipment. Microsoft is seeking a world-class power architect to join this team to challenge conventional wisdom and shape the future of the cloud. An ideal candidate for this role understands power from an end-to-end perspective encompassing server power supply design and analysis all the way to facility UPS and generators and up to the utility.
