Job Description:
Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband
access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth
orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to
unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project
Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast,
affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including
consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations
operating in places without reliable connectivity. The Senior
Technical Program Manager for Kuiper will help define and develop
the interfaces, manage requirements, and organize technical
efforts. This role includes direct responsibility for program
management of system level development, integration, and test. This
is a highly technical role requiring experience with integrated
hardware and software development as well as some appreciation for
complex applications. You will have significant influence over the
design and the test approach we take to develop the system. You
will tackle challenging, novel situations every day and have the
opportunity to work with multiple technical teams at Amazon in
different locations. You should be comfortable with a high degree
of ambiguity and relish the idea of solving problems that haven't

of people. Key job responsibilities This position requires an
engineering, systems, and program management background and direct
experience developing relevant systems. You will create and drive
high-level strategic initiatives, but will also roll up your
sleeves and contribute directly on systems requirements, technical
strategy, technical specifications, and test plans. A Senior TPM
anticipates bottlenecks, uses great judgment to make trade-offs,
influences multiple technical teams and balances the business needs
with technical constraints. Your ability to understand the big
picture of the project design and anticipate and plan dependencies
is crucial. Your ability to deliver large, complex projects on-time
across multiple engineering domains is invaluable. You will work
with a team of experts and drive the team to successfully
accomplish the following activities: - Drive complex
cross-functional engineering trades to optimize performance,
manufacturability and reliability of high-performance systems. -
Develop and manage technical requirements and interfaces that tie
to system level requirements. - Identify and lead trade studies and
analyses necessary to understanding performance and other aspects
of the design. - Identify features and lead development through
delivery of complex software and hardware. - Optimize the velocity
of engineering development through the design and automation of
mechanisms. - Develop and manage timeline, dependencies, and
deliverables. Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export
control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or
national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card
holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted
asylum BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor's degree in Systems
Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science , Computer
Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience. - 5 years
of hardware, software, system integration and test development of
complex systems across the full product life cycle – concept to
production. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Master's degree in physics,
electrical engineering, communications engineering, or related
field, or equivalent experience. - 4 years of experience in a
technical lead, systems engineer, or technical program management
role with significant experience architecting, integrating,
delivering HW and SW into a complex system. - 4 years of experience
leading cross-functional teams delivering products on schedule. -
Well-versed in HW and SW Product Development Life Cycle , waterfall
and Agile Development Environment. - Proficiency with at least one
schedule tracking tools such as MS Project, SmartSheet or
alternative. - Experience with optical systems. - Experience with
high volume manufacturing test methods, concepts and solutions. -
Ability to lead interdisciplinary discussions between Hardware,
Reliability, and Firmware teams to define and drive scope and
clarity of work, and reach optimum system level trades. -
Experience in high speed characterization of devices, operation of
high speed and high frequency test equipment, network analyzers,
spectrum analyzers, and high-speed oscilloscopes. - Experience
developing high-performance systems for aerospace applications or
systems operating in extreme environments. - Experience in
automated testing and system characterization. - Excellent oral and
written communication skills. - Track record of successfully
delivering complete systems (hardware, firmware, software) on time,
to scope, with high quality. - Ability to regularly engage with
senior stake holders and influence across the organization. Amazon

the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base
pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest
geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic
market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market
location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills,
and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent
