your future with us. Advanced Production and Automation is seeking
a Manufacturing Systems and Simulation MP&P Engineer – Modeling
and Simulation Engineer for the Production System Modeling,
Simulation & Analysis team in various locations. This position will
be based in Seattle, WA and other Washington state locations. Our
team is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels
including mid-level and lead Modeling and Simulation Engineers. The
chosen candidate will support the Production System Modeling,
Simulation & Analysis team. We are an engineering team which is
responsible for creating and implementing technical solutions that
drive innovation into the aircraft production process. This team
begins with ideas and concepts and delivers implementable
hardware/software/industrial robotics solutions that support
multiple programs across Boeing’s platforms. We also lead
non-program specific research and development efforts for our
government customers in alignment with External Technical
Associations. The chosen candidate will be motivated, self-driven
and will have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The candidate will work in a team environment to provide solutions
to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and
complexity. The candidate will support various projects, including
research, test, development, and implementation for the Production
System Modeling, Simulation & Analysis team. Some of the work we
perform may take us to locations outside of our work location.
Therefore, there will be times when business travel is required.
Position Responsibilities Develop, document, and maintain
architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and design for
software systems, automated hardware systems, and industrial
robotics Develop and maintain code and integrate software
components into a fully functional software system Perform engineer
activities including development, integration, and testing of
automated hardware systems Influence, innovate and continuously
improve the engineering processes as well as the quality, safety
and reliability of our products and services Collaborate
proactively with customers, stakeholders, and peers to understand
operational and performance expectations Support agile project
management, project estimation, and planning Intellectual curiosity
and willingness to learn and work with new technologies Cultivate a
positive team culture Basic Qualifications Bachelor of Science
degree from an accredited course of study in engineering,
engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering
technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or
computer science 3 years of industry experience in aerospace or
large-scale manufacturing Proficiency in at least one scripting
language (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript preferred) for tasks like
data wrangling, API testing, or automation Preferred Qualifications
5 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of
education and experience Experience leading cross-functional
technical projects in complex organizations; proficiency with
project planning, tracking tools, and risk management. Ability to
translate user needs into requirements, manage roadmaps, and
balance competing priorities between technical depth and delivery.
Understanding of discrete manufacturing processes, factory
operations, or industrial automation; familiarity with MES, PLM, or
UNS/IIoT concepts a strong plus. Familiarity with shop-floor
realities: variability, data latency, edge deployment, and system
interoperability challenges. Comfortable working with modern
software stacks (e.g., APIs, data platforms, cloud services,
message brokers like MQTT); able to partner effectively with
developers and data scientists. Ability to translate user needs
into requirements, manage roadmaps, and balance competing
priorities between technical depth and delivery. Experience with
digital manufacturing, Industry 4.0, or smart factory initiatives.
Experience with real-time monitoring and visualization tools
(Grafana, Prometheus, Pi Vision). Experience with Git/GitHub
(branching, pull requests, issue tracking). Experience working in
environments where software is delivered iteratively. Familiarity
with connecting applications via APIs, middleware, or message
brokers; understanding of concepts like schema management,
namespaces, and interoperability. Produce clear, reusable technical
documentation Experience with cloud-native development (AWS, Azure,
or GCP) and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes). Drug Free

considerations. Summary pay range for Mid-Level: $107,100 –
$144,900 Summary pay range for Senior: $129,200 – $174,800
