Boeing is recruiting a Propulsion Lab Test and Evaluation Engineering Technician to join our team Seattle, WA. In the Propulsion Lab, you will support development and certification testing of aircraft propulsion systems. Propulsion lab technicians performs laboratory and aircraft ground testing, and the upgrade and maintenance of propulsion related test facilities. Testing in these facilities support airplane development and certification tests, research and technology development, delivery and after sales support, and accident investigations. We are hiring a technician to help with multiple types of testing that we perform on-site in our Hazardous Test Facility (HTF). The HTF is a test facility that is designed for performing tests such as: structural fire proof certification, and fire resistance of cargo bay liners, aircraft insulation, aircraft seat cushions, and various material samples. Leading candidates will have a history of testing and/or working with small teams of mechanics to build prototypes or development parts along with a strong commitment to safety. The Test Technician will be responsible for Test activities in the HTF including test requirements coordination, test planning, test procedures, test scheduling, test setup, test conduct, and writing test reports on a variety of test activities conducted at the facility. The Test Technician will guide a team of test mechanic in performance of the required hands on tasking to setup and test as well as troubleshooting and resolving laboratory and test-related problems. The technician will also assist in analyzing and publishing test data. The technician interfaces with lab test engineers for overall direction and assistance in resolving any issues associated with the test setups, test support systems, and test data and instrumentation systems. The technician also interfaces with our business partners and other support organizations that are required to perform the testing to coordinate scheduling. The technician must have good technical, people and coordination skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment. Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate, Experienced and Senior Level Propulsion Lab Test and Evaluation Engineering Technicians. Position Responsibilities: - Supporting the day to day testing activities in the laboratory - Receiving and preparing equipment for testing - Test system setup, checkout, and troubleshooting - Test readiness standups - Test operations including collecting test data and verifying data is as expected - Post-test removals and coordinating shipments Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): - This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee - Associates' Degree or higher - 3 years experience working in a lab test, flight test, or similar test environment - 3 years experience using software applications for internet navigation, email, Microsoft Suite and/or other specialized computer applications - Ability to travel to remote locations to support test activities for extended duration Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): - Level 3: 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience - Level 4: 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience - 3 years experience working with fluid systems and hardware - 3 years experience with instrumentation and controls systems - Experience in a lab environment with data acquisition systems and hydraulic control software - Experience do you have leading or conducting hazardous operations Drug Free Workplace: Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace (DFW) where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.
