The Senior Manager, Multi-Cultural, Communities & Outreach, is responsible for the oversight and creation of strategic initiatives that enable the growth of, and enhance the employee lived experience for the Asian, African American/Black, and Hispanic/Latinx communities globally. The Senior Manager, Multi-Cultural, Communities & Outreach will partner with multiple key stakeholders including HR centers of excellence, legal, to serve as a consultant and thought leader on a range of topics including recruitment, retention, talent development, internal policy and practice. Additionally, the Senior Manager, Multi-Cultural, Communities & Outreach will have accountability for partnering with the corresponding employee resource groups and external outreach organizations. Responsibilities
    • Thought Leadership and Guidance - You proactively represent Microsoft as a thought leader, internally and externally. You facilitate the promotion and awareness of Microsoft's diversity initiatives, providing consultation and coaching to key stakeholders, leadership teams and business units on diversity and inclusion priorities, capabilities, offerings and best practices.
    • Strategic Planning - You establish the implementation approach for diversity and inclusion activities in alignment with Microsoft's global strategy. You build, own and guide the execution of project plans and oversee budget management for the team. You lead risk management and mitigation planning, and develop plans to remove barriers and promote an inclusive organizational culture for the business unit.
    • Influencing Change - You are a change facilitator, contributing to the design and implementation of communication plans for change management and collaborating with cross-functional teams to gain buy-in from business leadership to ensure adoption. You build and own relationships with key partners and third parties to align and integrate solutions across programs within a business and ensure diversity and inclusion outcomes are achieved and embedded within company offerings and resources.
    • Insights with Analytics - You analyze a wide variety of data, identify trends and patterns, provide insights to stakeholders, and recommend solutions to correct and proactively prevent issues. You develop and update measures of diversity based on business needs and best practices, and monitor the reporting process to ensure it supports the evaluation of diversity initiatives.
    • Diversity Policy - You contribute to policy innovation. You create and update diversity and inclusion policies in partnership with other teams, educating stakeholders on changes and advising business units and leadership on compliance with company policies and procedures.
    • Utilize listening systems and other data inputs to create and implement strategic initiatives; that provide resources, strong support systems for these communities and ultimately enhance the day-to-day employee experience.
    • Consult and partner with corresponding employee resource group leadership teams.
    • Manage external outreach partnerships related to these communities, including determining strategic approach and intended impact.
    • Engage across the Global Diversity & Inclusion team, championing and contributing to broader D&I efforts for the company.
    • Serve as an ambassador to Microsoft in external engagements. Qualifications Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
      • Business Acumen - The ability to understand the parts of the business and their interrelationships. This includes skill in understanding the industry, competition, and expected future developments and challenges, the business's competitive strengths and weaknesses, opportunities to grow the business and reduce operating costs; and awareness of the environment for opportunities.
      • Vendor/Supplier Management - Knowledge of the process through which products and services are purchased for use by the corporation and the ability to identify, select, and manage vendors and suppliers who provide products and services to the company. This includes knowledge of the development of RFI's and RFP's and the ability to incorporate necessary technical requirements into contracts.
      • Affirmative Action - Knowledge of Affirmative Action and how it applies in the organization, especially regarding protected groups who may have been discriminated against in the past.
      • EEO Regulations - Knowledge of the rules, regulations, codes, sanctions and other statutory requirements, guidelines and instructions related to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and workplace discrimination.
      • Global Mindset - Knowledge and understanding of global cultures, including similarities and differences. This includes the ability to work across organizational, functional, and geographic boundaries to drive communications, business strategies and multi-geography projects and teams; and adapt to a highly matrixed environment.
      • Diversity and Inclusion - The ability to establish and promote diversity and inclusion in multiple aspects, including the ability to identify high-performing and diverse talent, acknowledge/provide accelerated development opportunities and available resources, create and maintain an environment of objectivity, open communication, and respect. This may also include the ability to implement and support strategies and initiatives that build high-performing, diverse and inclusive teams, and support formal diversity goal requirements. Required/Minimum Qualifications
        • 5+ years of relevant Human Resources or business experience with Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or related field OR 7+ years of relevant Human Resources or business experience with Associate's degree. Additional or Preferred Qualifications
          • 5-7 years of HR generalist and/or D&I experience, with extensive emphasis on supporting racial and ethnic communities, preferably globally.
          • Strong project and change management skills.
          • Ability to manage multiple efforts in a fast moving, dynamic environment.
          • Ability to operate with agility and ambiguity.
          • Ability to engage effectively on sensitive and/or complex topics with individuals at all levels in the organization.
