The Health and Life Sciences Industry Team, part of the Worldwide Industry Solutions Organization, is seeking a Senior Director of Business Strategy to be based in North America. This role is accountable for leveraging deep industry and technical expertise to empower our customer's digital transformation, enable sales teams, service line, and partners to deliver relevant industry solutions and services. It's no longer about one simple software solution; it's about creating a connected, secure, efficient, and scalable industry ecosystem of integrated products, technologies, and cloud services. - -If you have a passion for applying technology to the world's greatest challenges in life science and want to be part of the digital revolution, we want to hear from you.--- -This role will also serve as a trusted advisor to Microsoft's regional business leads, client teams, and service line teams to identify market trends and customer needs and enable new business opportunities through industry solutions. This includes developing thought leadership across Microsoft's Health and Life Science stakeholders that will accelerate digital transformation, industry competition and solution strategies, strong partnerships, as well as long-term, sustainable growth for Microsoft. - This role holder looks around corners, is deeply innovative and inspirational and can rally the ecosystem internally and externally to establish Microsoft as the leading Cloud platform for Health and Life Science. This leader deeply understands industry challenges, landscape, and where technology can be best applied to accelerate transformation and reduce time to value. - -The role is expected to contribute to all levels of the Health and Life Science strategy for Microsoft including analysis of business and technical capabilities as well as development of frameworks and best practices that will scale across Microsoft's service line and partners. -The ability to hold others accountable and demonstrate impact and influence without direct control while maintaining excellent cross-company collaboration are critical success factors for the role. This role is focused on defining Microsoft's commercial industry strategy, to include researching and identifying priority industry solutions that best unlock Microsoft's technical capabilities in market and working closely with Microsoft's service line, engineering teams, and industry partners to achieve market scale. The role delivers growth of Microsoft Industry cloud services-as well as other advanced technologies including AI, cognitive services, mixed reality, robotics, digital twins, and others-by developing the partner ecosystem and enabling industry solutions that solve the customers business challenges as they digitally transform their businesses. - -Strategy Development & Evolution:---Combine your deep knowledge of the---Health and Life Sciences---industry with Microsoft platform expertise to create a multi-year strategy, in partnership with Engineering, Product Marketing, Regional Business Leads, Services, Partner teams and other Microsoft teams, inclusive of product roadmap, partner plans, business development and acquisition.--- This business plan---will contemplate how to---grow Microsoft's share across---Health and Life Sciences---with a focus on the adoption and consumption of Microsoft Industry Priority Solutions.--------- - -Deliver thought leadership globally:---Represent Microsoft at key industry events, Microsoft -external events such as Microsoft Envision, and at the Executive Briefing Center. Author blogs, white papers, etc. leverage social media and networks to promote MSFT's leadership in the industry.--- - -Lead Change Management Efforts:---Partner with Health and Life Sciences---team leaders and the broader Enterprise Commercial leadership team to define and drive internal change management efforts, including prioritizing and implementing new solutions, collaboratively establishing strategy, driving sales and partner ecosystem scale, and engaging with other key leaders to deeply embed industry plans to land the business value of Microsoft priorities and technology portfolio at executive client touch points, strengthening Microsoft's role as a trusted advisor in---Life Sciences.--- - -Closed Feedback Loop:---Facilitation and delivery of closed feedback loop with key executive sponsors and cross-organizational partners including Customers, Engineering, Product Marketing, Regional Business Leads, WW Specialist Sales/Customer Success, Inside Sales, One Commercial partner (OCP), Commercial Software Engineering, the Digital Advisor -team -and Microsoft Service Line leaders to ensure constant evolution of the strategy and offerings.--- - -Control and Monitor Results:---Analyze market share gains, sales outcomes, customer feedback, and other key metrics to assess health and progress of the---Health and Life Sciences -strategy and its ability to drive sustainable revenue and consumption growth.--- -QualificationsRequired Qualifications:10+ years of experience in a combination management/strategy consulting, technology & marketing roles within the---Health and Life Sciences and related fields.--- -Preferred Qualifications:The successful candidate will be an experienced strategist and business leader with a proven track record of developing strategy from the ground up along with---exceptional customer/partner relationship management, customer technology adoption plans, assessment/development -and delivery execution. The role will develop recommendations on how to accelerate our---Life Science---strategy, including analysis of build, partner and buy opportunities and other strategic investment proposals that will inspire senior leaders to invest in the strategy.--- -Established---Health and Life Sciences---experience, expertise, and credentials with customer line-of-business needs and deep industry solution technical expertise.------ -Knowledge---of the Microsoft Enterprise Platform, or at least of all disruptive technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, mixed reality, etc.---and the ability to map relevant technologies to customers' IT and business needs and priorities.--- -In-depth---understanding of the partner ecosystems (including Tier 1s, ISVs, SIs) related to---Health and Life Science---and the ability to identify leading solution vendors or systems integrators with relevant repeatable solutions or domain practices.--- -Deep---understanding of---the industry---competitive landscape and be able to translate Microsoft's value proposition to drive global compete strategies.--- -Understand, and have experience with---the application of cloud-based technologies in a---Life Science---environment.--- -Proven ability to work across engineering, sales, and marketing teams.--- -Proven capabilities of exemplary impact through cross-group collaboration and partnerships.--- -Relentless drive to get things done.--- Outstanding written and verbal communications skills.--- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, similar information technology-related, or engineering and/or science discipline degree a plus but hands on experience and demonstrated success in industry preferred. -Microsoft is an equal opportunity employer.
