Microsoft's Cloud business is experiencing explosive growth, and the Capacity, Supply Chain & Provisioning (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the infrastructure underlying this growth. Our mission is to deliver the world's computer with an industry-leading supply chain. CSCP is responsible for strategic sourcing, customer demand forecasting, capacity planning and management, supply chain planning and execution, capacity provisioning, and decommissioning and dispositioning of datacenter assets worldwide.We are looking for Sr. Manager to join our team and lead our Networking Supply Chain Operations team. This team is responsible for pre-positioning long lead networking hardware to meet our consumption needs. As a people manager, this candidate will work with cross function teams to understand requirements for both Server builds as well as datacenter infrastructure and work with a team of planners and analysts to make recommendations for what material needs to be purchased ahead of time to assure supply is available at the time of build. This includes budgeting and submitting requests to our MSFT Finance team for approvals, based on ROI, as well as the execution to assure that materials are ordered from approved suppliers and stocked at our Distributors for consumption. Successful candidate will have deep understanding of material planning in manufacturing, ability to create financial forecasts and manager inventory to turns goals as well as work with suppliers in the industry to expedite materials to meet requirements. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team and drive continuous improvements in the space.ResponsibilitiesLead a team of material planners and analysts to drive forecast and supply for network gear and cablesIncludes recruiting new talent and retaining current team membersCoordinate internally with Engineering, Sourcing and Capacity Planning to assure new products are properly forecasted and POs issued to drive material into our distribution partnersDefine and implement our overall supply management strategy to increase available supply, mitigate risk and assure clear visibility into material availabilityDefine and manage metrics to assure team is meeting deliverables and meeting service level requirements for meeting demand requirementsSupport the transition from pilot to growth to assure elements like BOM's, and forecast are in place to drive long lead materialsDevelop initiative roadmap to drive improvements in systems and tools associated with the material planning processPerform scenario analysis to understand impact of component shortages and demand changes to our overall supply planIdentify process improvement opportunities and work with cross functional teams to improve tools and process to better meet our global demandsDefine inventory buffer targets (in conjunction with Component Planning) and strategies based on historical usage and forecast, define financial risk/liability associated with said buffersQualificationsRequired Qualifications:8+ years in Electronics manufacturing supply planning or similar roleBachelor's degree or equivalent experience in supply chain, or related fieldRecommended Qualifications:Direct experience in electronics assembly and new product introductionsElectronics manufacturing experience (PCBA's) and logistics, focused on network great for data centersDeep understanding of Supply Planning elements, tools, and processProven track record in delivering change, process improvement, and lean manufacturing solutionsExperience with BOM's and engineering elements needed for productionExpert level with MS Office Applications, focus on ExcelPossess business acumen, able to think and plan strategically, and also able to execute tasks with strong attention to detailPeople Manager who can inspire their team to achieve moreConfident communication, interpersonal and presentation skillsResults orientated with strong analytical and problem resolution skillsAbility to work under continual deadline constraintsCritical thinking and ability to drive resolution in ambiguous situationsComfortable working in a fast-pace, high-growth environmentThis description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this position.
