This role will interface our executives, engineering, and business teams to develop comprehensive technologies for hundreds of millions of customers operating around the globe.We are looking for someone who is technically strong, a seasoned people leader who loves to build teams, and is passionate about driving engineering and operational excellence for a global team. To be successful in this role, this leader will establish a long-range product strategy, and deliver cloud and developer infrastructure to operate IC3 services and technologies that power Microsoft Teams and more. You will deliver solutions that are changing how collaboration works for governments, government entities, enterprises, and SMB customers around the world.To capitalize on the success of Microsoft Teams, we are looking for a seasoned leader to help us modernize, standardize, and scale the tools used to build software by more than 1,500 engineers across the division. The primary goal of this organization is to invent autonomous and sovereign clouds increasing the throughput, reducing the latency, and reducing the total cost of ownership in building and releasing of cloud infrastructure. In this role, a strong technical leader will establish the vision, strategy, and roadmap to develop compliant build, release, and operational systems. These systems will enable thousands of engineers to meet customer needs rapidly and safely with automated tools and systems required for large-scale software development, deployment, and operations. We are building solutions to solve customer needs in dedicated cloud environments. As local, state, and federal governments around the world adopt Microsoft's cloud technologies, you will lead building products and tools that empower customers' workloads across the Office ecosystem and beyond.#IC3 #M365CoreResponsibilitiesWorking in conjunction with other Microsoft Engineering Divisions, establish a long-range strategy and near-term roadmap to drive engineering efficiency for IC3.Lead, attract, grow, and retain engineers, engineering leaders, and technical program managers in a globally distributed organization. Build, deliver and support high-quality sets of new horizontal and vertical engineering solutions. This includes directing the analysis and design of large-scale programs and products. Partner effectively with functional leader counterparts (engineering, program/product management, design, ops) to ensure ongoing alignment, solve issues, track engineering dependencies, and build solutions using other groups apps, platforms, and experience. Provide technical leadership on engineering systems across the global IC3 organization. Drive product execution with clarity, including helping to translate big picture capabilities to specific set of problems to solve, use OKRs to guide downstream execution, and effectively represent your group status to executive leadership across Microsoft.QualificationsBachelor's+ Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related fieldDemonstrated success in developing product strategy and vision and translating this into an actionable and achievable roadmap (including performance objectives/OKRs). -Experience in building solutions for dedicated or air-gapped cloud environments. -7+ years of hands-on engineering experience (both as engineer and manager) working through the full product cycle from initial architecture design to final product delivery and support. -3+ years of leadership experience, with demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and build results-oriented large (50-100) development teams. -Demonstrated ability to create a supportive work environment for career and personal development. -Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written English communication skills, including communication with executives overseas. -Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills. -Experience with shipping software in SaaS model. -Experience working for international corporations (like Microsoft) is preferred. -Microsoft is an equal opportunity employer.
