We consult broader product and business groups on research opportunities, explore the unproven and enable them to drive boundary pushing innovation from ideation to real world impact. While also generating mindshare in the process through academic publications, open-source releases, blog posts, patents and industry conferences. Candidates in this role will become pioneering leaders within Microsoft's security division (Defender) and shape the next revolution of AI and ML for cybersecurity.#aiambitions#artificialintelligence#cybersecurity#scimjobsResponsibilitiesBring people together across disciplines to develop ideas and concepts to further better cyber protection through research and product features. -Understand the threat and competitive landscape, frame the problems we want to go after, get team alignment and commitments along with measurements, and drive the execution that ensure we are delivering a valuable solution. -Engage in continuous product planning cycle to drive clarity on research goals and set the right expectations with product partners to provide unique value as needed. -Cross functional leadership and collaboration with stakeholders to proactively create a strong funnel of opportunities and that can be leveraged for continuous planning. -Make good, timely and practical decisions with uncertainty on a consistent basis. -Contribute to industry and academic visibility through active community presence. -QualificationsRequired:Bachelors or advanced degree or equivalent professional experience in a technical field.4+ years' experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development.2+ years' experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.Great written and verbal communication skills, ability to simplify and articulate complex ideas.A desire to learn, grow, and drive change.Subject matter expertise and passion for driving AI/ ML innovations within cybersecurity.Preferred:Understand AI innovations across the industry and academic research community.Experience working with research teams and/or in a research setting.Understanding of security, threat intelligence and hunting, anti-fraud systems, phish detection technologies and social engineering research.Microsoft is an equal opportunity employer.
