    Lake Washington School District -is looking for qualified Director of Multilingual Learning candidates.

    POSITION SUMMARY: -The Director of Multilingual Learning provides strategic leadership and management of the District's multilingual language learner and dual language services, operations, and policies. The Director of Multilingual Learning will direct services including but not limited to the development, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive programs in support of multilingual learners and dual language. A core function of the role includes providing support to schools to increase student achievement, ensure equity and access, increase rigor, and close the achievement gap for all multilingual learners at all instructional levels. The efforts of the Director will be key to positioning LWSD as a District committed to equitable, high-quality language services and programming so that all learners thrive. This position reports to the Director of Intervention Services and Literacy and supervises program staff as assigned. -Please see attached job description for additional details.

    • Master's degree in educational administration, curriculum and instruction, linguistics, English as a Second Language or related field. -
    • Minimum of three (3) years successful teaching experience with multilingual learners. -
    • Demonstrated successful experience in bilingual and/or language immersion programs, and in developing effective program models for multilingual learners.
    • Licensing and Certification o Valid Washington District Administrative Credential, or eligibility to obtain within 60 days of hire.Salary: -Director Level 5 - $165,540 -per year, 261 days. This is an exempt position. Full benefit package included. -

      FLSA Status: Exempt

      Immigration Reform and Control Act Requirement: All new employees are required by law to submit documentation to Human Resources proving eligibility to work in the USA by completing an employment eligibility form within three days of employment.

      Background Check on Recommended Candidate: -A reference check inquiry will also be made by Human Resources on recommended candidates. According to 1992 legislation ESHB 2518, all school employees with regularly scheduled unsupervised access to children are required to have a criminal background check, which includes fingerprints. -
