In our Redmond WA facility, we fabricate, assembly, and test
chemical and electric thrusters, as well as small scale propulsion
systems. - Our test facility supports vibration and hot fire
testing of products for both production and development products. -
We are currently seeking a Manager to support our test lab who will
monitor the work operations on a daily basis to actively provide
direction to employees located at our Redmond WA location.

Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)
30% - Provide technical guidance on the various systems used to
operate the test facility including, but not limited to:
- Vacuum chambers
- Steam ejector system
- Gaseous nitrogen and helium supply
- Random Vibration system
- Data management systems. -
30% - Provide technical and administrative supervision for test
engineering and data software reduction operations. - Duties
- Scheduling and utilizing employees to support the test facility
- Maintaining records for successful handoff between
- Ensure proper training is in place for all employees
- Partner with other managers in the area to support growth and
development of employees and maintenance of the facility
- Ensure adequate staffing plans for forecasted business are in
20% - Drive area improvements that support the needs of the
business. - -Duties include:
- Support corporate continuous improvement efforts in the
- Drive maintenance activities throughout the lab
- Coordinate capital project completions in the test lab
20% - Support program efforts as needed including:
- Proposal efforts for future business
- Work with scheduling and other operations areas to maximize
efficiency of hardware flow through the shop
- Participate in program specific investigations/ tiger teams to
ensure programs achieve their milestones.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering,
aeronautical engineering, or an applicable discipline with at least
three (3) years of progressive related experience or an equivalent
combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated leadership skills to plan, organize, coordinate,
direct and control the activities of the assigned work area are
needed. Must be able to read and understand detailed written
instructions, procedures, sketches, diagrams, drawings and charts,
as well as knowledge of MIL-Standard, part numbering and color
coding conventions. - -Knowledge of industrial fluid systems and
understanding of compressible and incompressible fluids is not
required, but is preferred.
Willingness to assist in additional job duties as assigned by
Management is vital. - Supervisory experience in implementation of
a manufacturing process improvement activity (such as Six Sigma,
JIT, 5S, Kaizan, Process Mapping, etc) and ability to work and lead
teams of self directed work groups is desired.
Requires U.S. Citizenship or status as a U.S. Person. Must be able
to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government
information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from
being able to meet this requirement.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a
standard office setting and to use standard office equipment,
including a computer; stamina to sit or stand and maintain
attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally
lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require occasional
walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision
to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and
speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require
the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of
personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes,
and shop coat.
