Type: Travel Job Title : Psychiatric Registered Nurse (Psych RN) A
Psychiatric Registered Nurse (Psych RN) specializes in providing
care to patients with mental health disorders, emotional
challenges, and behavioral issues. This role involves assessing,
planning, and implementing care for patients in inpatient or
outpatient psychiatric settings, promoting mental wellness, and
collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. Patient Assessment and
Care : Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, including
evaluating emotional, cognitive, and behavioral functioning.
Develop individualized care plans based on patient needs, in
collaboration with the healthcare team. Monitor patient progress
and adjust care plans as necessary. Administer medications and
monitor for side effects, documenting responses appropriately.
Respond to psychiatric emergencies, such as suicidal ideation,
aggressive behavior, or severe anxiety. Facilitate group therapy
sessions or educational workshops on mental health topics, as
applicable. Work closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, social
workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic
approach to care. Assist in discharge planning, connecting patients
with community resources or outpatient services. Maintain a safe
environment by following protocols for high-risk patients,
including suicide precautions and restraint use. Document patient
care accurately and in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
Stay current on best practices in psychiatric nursing and maintain
knowledge of mental health laws. Active Registered Nurse (RN)
license in the practicing state. Associate’s Degree in Nursing
(ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing Certification (RN-BC) preferred.

hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with
