Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced
OR RN for a 13-week travel contract at a Level III Trauma Center in
Puyallup, WA, with strong ortho, spine, and robotic surgery
experience required. Details - Work setting is a 375-bed Level III
Trauma Center in Puyallup, WA - OR unit operates 12 rooms (11 daily
1 hybrid), handling 40–50 cases per day - Patient population
includes adult ENT (thyroid), general surgery, ortho/spine, total
joints, GYN, vascular (AV fistula, fem-pops), urology, and
podiatry; minimal pediatric cases (typically ENT) - No open heart,
transplant, or high-level neuro procedures (e.g., EVDs) - RN role
is circulator only - Strong experience required in ortho, sports
medicine, spine, and robotics (DaVinci) - Shift is 10-hour days
with variable start times: 0630, 0830, or 1030 - Shift time may
vary week to week based on department needs - Must be available to
work 7 days a week unless approved by the nurse manager -
Occasional weekends required based on department needs - On-call
required: 4–6 call shifts per 6-week schedule period, including
potential nights (2230–0700) and weekends - 30-minute on-call
response time required; no sleep rooms available - Charting system:
Epic (required), Alaris, and Pyxis - If low census occurs in the
OR, travelers may be floated to inpatient areas (MS, ICU, PCU, ED
Holding, PACU, etc.) or the ED for non-patient-assignment tasks
such as vital signs, stocking, or running/tasking — no medication
administration and within scope of practice Requirements - Active
WA RN license or compact RN license currently in hand - BLS
certification required - Minimum 2 years of acute/inpatient OR
experience required - Total joint experience required - Strong
hands-on experience with ortho, sports medicine, spine, and robotic
surgery (DaVinci XI) required - Robotic experience (DaVinci
XI/Robotic Mazer) preferred - Epic EMR experience required -
Candidates must have worked the shift type they are being
considered for - A rhythm exam must be completed prior to start -
COVID vaccination required - At least one supervisor-level
reference (charge nurse, manager, director, or above) required for
consideration; a second reference required prior to start
Additional Information - First-time travelers will not be
considered for this position - Orientation includes Day 1 new
employee onboarding and system access setup, with Epic training on
Day 4 (Thursday) and unit orientation for the remainder of the
first week - RTO: up to 5 days may be approved; additional RTO
requests require nurse manager approval, and missed days may need
to be made up at the end of the contract - Scrubs are provided by
the facility - No personal phones permitted in the OR - The
