Every Team Member is expected to know and use the Key 3:Acknowledge & Smile Anticipate & Deliver Sincerely ThankSUMMARYThis position manages all banquet activities, including set up of banquet space and service of food and beverages, to ensure that groups using the hotel's banquet facilities are completely satisfied in accordance with the standards of The Hotel Group and the Hotel.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSThe position requires the ability to perform the following essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation:

  • Supervises set up and service staff to ensure timely, accurate room set up of food and beverage service per client specifications.
  • Ensure appealing, creative, and consistent presentation of all food and beverage.
  • Greet guests upon arrival; retain a visible presence throughout the function; resolve guest complaints and answer questions to customer's satisfaction.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • hires banquet staff as needed to maintain adequate staffing levels for department; coaches and counsels team members regarding career and personal development; conducts performance evaluation and provides feedback to team members.
  • Trains banquet staff in proper set up, serving and clean up procedures.
  • Coach team to consistently meet or exceed the standards set by the hotel.
  • Enforce uniform standards.
  • Prepares schedules and assigns duties to banquet wait staff, and set up personnel.
  • Handles cash transactions and keeps a balanced bank.
  • Oversee the activities of the Banquet Staff to insure accurate and timely banquet service.
  • Attends weekly banquet event order meetings.
  • Maintains adequate inventory supply levels to meet projected needs.
  • Conducts monthly inventory of all Banquet supplies – linens, all beverages, glasses, china, flatware, serving utensils, candles, and decorations; requisitions additional supplies as needed.
  • Maintains strict control over all Audio‐Visual equipment, cleans and stores all equipment in a secure manner.
  • Communicates with maintenance department regarding banquet equipment repair or safety issues.
  • Responsible for all regular maintenance and cleaning of Banquet area.
  • Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance.
  • Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives of this position.
  • At all times projects a favorable image of The Hotel Group and the Hotel to the public.HOURS AND ATTENDANCE
    • Minimum of 40 hours per week with varied and flexible shifts/days, likely to include nights, weekends, holidays.
    • Regular and predictable attendance in conformance with the Hotel's standards, as may be established from time to time, is an essential job function. Team members with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.MARGINAL OR SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONSIn addition to performance of the essential function, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the requirements of the hotel.
      • Attend mandatory meetings including divisional meetings, department meetings, staff meetings, etc.
      • Participate in community public relations for the hotel.
      • Utilize traditional software programs such as Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint and/or Outlook.
      • In emergencies, perform in the capacity of any position supervised.
      • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required.
      • Participate in Manager on Duty program.PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS OF POSITION, INCLUDING ENVIRONMENTThe individual holding this position must be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities:
        • Strong mathematical abilities to determine and track inventory, controls, revenue productions, and other hotel financial statements.
        • Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, with guests and team member, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger and to collect accurate information to resolve problems.
        • Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods.
        • Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.
        • Must exhibit positive interpersonal skills with focused attention to guest needs and varied business contacts.
        • Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures.
