As part of Microsoft's Commerce and Ecosystems group, the Commerce Financials team is responsible for processing, controlling, and reporting on the entire set of transactional data that flows through our entire commerce system. We are responsible for making sure that this financial data is complete and accurate. Our group has experienced significant growth recently, reflecting the growth of Microsoft's cloud business.We are looking for a Principal Software Engineering Lead to manage the Financial Controls team. Our controls process and reconcile large amounts of financial data to ensure that our data is accurate and complete. Our customers include our Finance and Compliance teams, as well as our executive leaders. The team leverages big data technology, including Spark, Azure Synapse, and Azure Analytics Services, with scripts written in Scala, Python and C#. We are continually innovating our infrastructure to manage scale, improve reliability, reduce latency, and lower costs.**Responsibilities**In this role, you will lead a team of talented and passionate engineers. You will collaborate effectively across partner and customer teams to create clarity and deliver success. You will provide technical leadership for the team and ensure we continuously improve our engineering processes and tools. Finally, you will be a model of our core values and an effective coach for developing the team.**Qualifications**As the ideal candidate, you have 10+ years' experience in software development and 5+ years in leading a development team. You have solid experience in working with big data, and proficiency with data tools and systems and cloud technologies. You are well-organized and are comfortable working in a fast-paced, time-critical environment. You have demonstrated skills in collaboration across teams and disciplines. Finally, you can generate energy in your team and ensure everyone on your team feels included and motivated.Required Qualifications:+ 10+ years of experience with software development+ 5+ years leading a development team+ A minimum of a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Design, Software Engineering, OR a related field, OR equivalent alternative education, skills, AND/OR practical experience is requiredExperience with the following technologies is helpful but not required:+ Programming languages C#, Python, Scala+ Big data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop.
