Job Description:

As the VR Eye and Face Tracking Validation and Prototyping Lead, you will be joining the VR Eye Tracking team that is responsible for the design, development, and productization of Eye and Face tracking hardware technologies to enable the future of VR products. You will be responsible for developing and executing our prototyping and validation strategy to evaluate the performance of new eye tracking and face tracking hardware. You will also be responsible for data analysis and characterization of eye and face tracking hardware and the correlation of hardware performance to software, algorithm, and feature level performance. You will work on technologies from the concept and technology development phase through to product release.

VR Eye and Face Tracking Technology Validation and Prototyping Lead Responsibilities:

  • Lead, build, and mentor a small team of world-class engineers. Champion a healthy and inclusive team while working toward team and company goals.
  • Develop the Eye and Face Tracking prototyping strategy to inform new Eye and Face Tracking technology designs and improve cycles of learning. Work closely with internal teams to execute prototyping strategy.
  • Data analysis and characterization of eye and face tracking hardware from prototyping and factory test.
  • Improve the correlation of hardware performance to software, algorithm, and feature level performance.
  • Champion engineering excellence and data driven.
  • Drive clarity and focus for the project and the team by clearly defining goals and metrics of success and aligning with the team and cross functional partners.
  • Ideal candidate is someone who can dive deep in the details while also operating at a higher level of abstraction, connecting the dots, understanding and articulating the strategy.
  • Up to 25% domestic and international travel required.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Experience bringing new technologies from concept to product release.
    • 1+ years of people management experience.
    • Interests about closing the loop on designs through testing and validation.
    • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
    • 3+ years experience in consumer electronics product development.
    • BS degree in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or a related technical discipline with 5+ years of experience, or advanced degree in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline with 4+ years of experience.

      Preferred Qualifications:
      • Knowledge on optics, sensors, and/or system design.
      • Direct experience in successful product release cycles in consumer electronics.
      • Experience with image quality algorithms and the co-development of hardware and software.
