Be a part of the team developing solutions for this platform with a focus on carrier grade quality, security, performance, and resiliency. Responsibilities In this role, you will work with the Operator Nexus team of software engineers to integrate the deployment of on-premises computing clusters with Azure in support of 5G wireless technology network functions. You will use your knowledge and expertise to contribute to one of our domain areas (Azure core services, Arc, Azure Kubernetes Service, Monitoring, Storage, Engineering Systems) of the platform and design and develop solutions to enhance our carrier grade cloud with speed, scale, quality and security. You will collaborate with several teams across Azure Core, Azure Edge and Platform, and Azure for Operators to lead the transition of the mobile network to an open, disaggregated and software-based model leveraging Operator Nexus as the platform of choice. As a Principal Software Engineer you will contribute to and be responsible for :
    • Providing strategic product vision to advance industry products -
    • Designing enhancements and integration points for the product
    • Using deep technical expertise , building a quality and secure continuous deployment product to rapidly integrate functionality and tooling
    • Working across teams to define strategic program and product alignment
    • Mentoring engineers and providing expert source code review -
    • Identifying and evaluating quality frameworks and utilizing an SR E mindset to proactively add resiliency and scale to product - Qualifications Required Qualifications
      • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline Or equivalent exerience
        • AND 6+ years of experience in industry software engineering.
        • Proficiency in GoLang
        • Experience in Kubernetes, creating Custom Resources and Operators
        • Experience in troubleshooting and remediating issues in production systems Other Requirements: - Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: -
          • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. Preferred Qualifications : -
            • Experience in building, shipping and operating reliable, distributed systems software -
            • Ability to engage in site-reliability engineering practices -
            • Knowledge of secure development practices and maintaining project compliance
            • Experience in one or more of the following Areas:
              • Microsoft Azure core services
              • Networking, Storage, and Compute (including virtualization)
              • Platform Monitoring, Logging and Alerting -
              • CI/CD (Continuous Innogration/ Continuous Delivery) to automate delivery stages with pipelines and control promotion with quality gates
              • Linux Operating systems
              • Cybersecurity with a focus on Cloud Infrastructure Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,600 - $256,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $173,200 - $282,200 per year.
