With our rapidly growing, award winning energy efficiency programs, our pathway to an exciting and innovative future is now.PSE'sLoad Serving Operationsteam is looking for qualified candidates to fill anopenTransmission Schedulerposition!Job Description Perform transmission scheduling and balancing area accounting functions during 7 x 24 hour real-time operations. Evaluate and process transmission capacity requests and energy transactions using the Open Access Same Time Information System (OASIS) and the Electronic Tagging (E-Tag) system. Adjust transmission line limits (TTC) in webTrans and in Balancing Authority Area Operations Portal (BAAOP) based on known transmission constraints. Manage associated energy scheduling and accounting database, and after-the-fact accounting processes. Research and resolve pre-schedule and real-time scheduling and accounting discrepancies. Maintain procedures and processes that are compliant with FERC Rules and NERC, NAESB, and WECC Standards and Business Practices. Upholds the safety compliance standards inherent in PSEs operating and/or field procedures related to work responsibilities. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety.Job Responsibilities Process and prepare transmission and energy schedules for implementation by real time operations.Process and prepare transmission and energy schedules in the pre-schedule time horizon.Evaluate and process transmission capacity requests using the OASIS system.Evaluate and process energy transactions using E-Tags.Create, evaluate and adjust EIM transfer ETSRs.Review and track energy transfers between PSEI and other EIM BAAsMonitor available transmission capacity and curtailments on paths utilized for EIMAdjust transmission line limits (TTC) in webTrans and in BAAOP based on known transmission constraintsAssure data is accurately entered into the scheduling system.Verify transactions for accuracy, completeness, and appropriateness.Coordinate the after-the-fact corrections and accounting updates with adjacent BAs and WECC.Research and resolves scheduling discrepancies with other balancing areas and entities.Create and complete reports for industry groups, regulators and others entities.Establish excellent business relationships with work groups both inside and outside of PSE.Help to develop and maintain consistent and auditable documentation, processes and procedures.Maintains procedures and processes that are compliant with FERC (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission) rules and NERC (North American Electric Reliability Corporation), NAESB, and WECC (Western Electricity Coordinating Council) standards and business practices.Maintain flexibility while working in a changing environment.Effectively communicates with a wide range of people while meeting hourly deadlines.Perform detail-oriented work with a high degree of accuracy.Function effectively while using multiple scheduling and accounting systems.Participate in staff and Load Office meetingsAttend group and individual training opportunitiesOperate standard office equipment.Performs other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications Associates degree or up to 2 years of college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.1 year prior related experience with working knowledge of electrical theory, power systems and/or the utility industry.Knowledge of WECC, NERC and FERC standards.Ability to work rotating shifts.Proficient with spreadsheets, databases and energy accounting applications, including the ability to understand and extract data.Effective oral and written communication.Ability to work within a small group while creating and sustaining a positive and proactive environment.Desired Qualifications Bachelors degree in engineering or other scientific/technical discipline.NERC operator certification and/or WECC operator classes. Previous experience in utility operations.Transmission or energy scheduling experience.
