The CHIE Cloud Hardware Experience Engineering (CHEE) team is looking for a senior professional who understands the importance, high standards, and processes required for timely, industry-best review and implementation of hardware changes - including commodities - as the prerequisite for global availability and expected impact.

As a valued member of the CHEE HW PM team, you will assume a highly visible position and accountability for server HW change management, focusing not only on day-to-day E2E management of HW changes but leveraging the full extent of your business acumen and professional skills to identify and act on opportunities to advance our HW change management approach and delivery an even better Customer Experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent relevant discipline, with practical experience in hardware or software design, sustaining engineering, reliability testing and/or analysis.
  • 4 years of hardware program management experience that preferably includes planning, development, and execution of change management and proven success in management of complex, cross-disciplinary projects.

  • Strategic thinking, communicating transparently, effectively, and persuasively across a wide range of technical and non-technical audiences, and tracking work actions, progress, and appropriate contingencies thoroughly and on a timely basis.

These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Through active engagement with other CHEE teams, manage the efficiency, effectiveness, and timeliness of the server HW change management process from initial change submission through closure.

Review of new incoming change notifications, weekly triages of pending HW changes with internal subject matter experts and external systems integrators, and weekly synchs with key stakeholder organizations all to ensure execution to committed standards and timelines. This includes working directly with external suppliers to ensure comprehensive and meaningful test results are delivered in a timely manner.

Coordinate scrum and sprint planning with internal and external contributors for efficient, prioritized, and timely qualification of HW changes in the best interests of all stakeholders.

Leverage existing (and develop new) PowerBI capabilities to monitor the progress of active part change requests through the HW PCR workflow, assessing and quickly addressing evolving backlogs within individual process states.

Report summary and detailed status on the HW change pipeline - schedule, timing, backlog, in-progress testing, interim and final test results, challenges, outlook, and/or opportunities for process improvement - during weekly Sustaining Ship Room and/or CHEE Weekly Business Reviews.

Work with Microsoft Sourcing, Spares and Warranty Operations, and SIs to 1) ensure a minimum of Out-of-Stock situations that impact server HW availability, and 2) to design, plan and implement process improvements to meet higher customer experience and business need expectations.
