Golder is currently seeking a full-time Senior Environmental Engineer to support our contaminated land, remediation and environmental compliance projects in our Redmond, Washington office. In this role, you will support our project delivery and growth in remediation and related sectors and will work closely with a team of scientists and engineers in our Pacific Northwest office locations and throughout the U.S. Our ideal candidate will be a significant contributor both with strategy and delivery on a team providing project and client management services for site investigation, feasibility studies, remedial design, and construction management for both private and public clients.

Responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Provide technical direction and oversight as well as mentoring and training to junior-level Golder staff for site investigation and remediation projects
  • Contaminated site assessment
  • Hazard waste site characterization
  • Preparation of Feasibility Studies under CERCLA and state programs
  • Managing and performing remedial design under CERCA and state cleanup programs
  • Design, installation, and operation of treatment systems for site remediation
  • Regulatory permitting, environmental compliance, and liabilities management
  • Performance monitoring and reporting for permit compliance
  • Completing assigned work scopes on time and within budget and in compliance with Golder's project management and delivery requirements and guidelines
  • Proposal writing and maintaining/developing client relationships to ensure project delivery and generation or repeat business.

Required:

  • B.S. in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related discipline
  • P.E.
  • A minimum 15 years of experience in environmental remediation projects
  • In-depth experience in planning and executing investigation and remediation programs for a diverse set of clients
  • Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated project management and team leadership skills
  • Strong technical knowledge and the desire to excel
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state regulatory programs (e.g., MTCA, RCRA, CERCLA).
  • Position requires travel and fieldwork.

Desired:

  • P.E. in Washington
  • Experience identifying and leading project pursuits
  • Experience in mine site investigation, feasibility studies, and remediation
  • Demonstrated experience in mentoring and developing junior staff.
  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER health and safety training
  • Experience evaluating and designing treatment systems for site remediation
  • Good knowledge of chemistry, especially in the remediation context
  • Construction management experience
