Department: -Development
Location: Redmond
Work Schedule: Full Time Monday-Friday, currently work is primarily remote with in person onsite work options, flexible schedule, typical hours 9am-5:30pm Very occasional evenings or weekends for donor events
Compensation: $65k annually + DOE

Since 1971, Hopelink has served homeless and low-income families, children, seniors and people with disabilities in the north and east King County, WA. With service centers in Redmond, Bellevue, Kirkland, Shoreline and Sno-Valley (Carnation), we are the largest nonprofit organization in the area. -Hopelink programs and services focus on five key areas: food, financial assistance, housing & family development, adult education & employment and transportation/mobility. Programs are aimed at helping people achieve stability and helping them gain the skills and knowledge they need to exit poverty for good.
Summary:
Hopelink's Senior Development Officer, Major Gifts position is focused on providing personal, donor-centered attention to Hopelink's dedicated, established base of major donors who contribute gifts at or above $10,000. The Senior Development Officer, Major Gifts will create and manage strategies with a portfolio of 100-125 major donors and 40-60 active donor prospects to increase giving to Hopelink. Provides a high level of donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship, through donor engagement. The position requires respect for donor confidentiality, flexibility, and the ability to prioritize changing needs.
Works under the direction of the Senior Manager of Individual Giving.

Essential Functions :

Independently stewards and manages a portfolio of approximately 100-125 active major donors and 40-60 active donor prospects.
o -Independently initiating contact with major donors and donor prospects.
o -Utilizing moves management on behalf of donor pipelining in order to move donors through the gift cycle.
o -Setting and carrying out strategies for stewardship, cultivation, and relationship-building.
o -Moving donors in an appropriate and timely matter from solicitation to acquiring gifts.
o -Maintaining stewardship contact with donors, such as gift impact reports and donor recognition.
o -Identifying donor prospects through prospect research and networking.

Contributes to discussion and implementation of overall strategy and activities for major donor solicitation, retention, and stewardship, including creating opportunities to attract new major donors.
Develops, implements, and manages the Cornerstone, our major giving society that provides high-impact donors with a deeper connection to Hopelink's programs and leadership to increase their understanding of and buy-in to Hopelink's work in the community.
Works alongside the operations team on all prospect donor research procedures and assists in completing donor research on behalf of Development team and based on a case-by-case basis.
Contributes to the success of Hopelink's annual events, including planning and coordinating major donor-specific events, assisting with luncheon table captain recruitment, and setting strategy for engaging donors through events.
In partnership with Senior Manager, Individual Giving, execute all strategies related to the planned giving program, including prospecting for potential bequests, and developing appropriate communications to market the program to Hopelink's supporters.
Inputs and maintains up-to-date and accurate database records for assigned donors and prospects in Raiser's Edge NXT database in accordance with established procedures.
Works in an open, collegial manner with diverse development team.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Desired Qualifications:
At least 3 years direct experience in nonprofit development/fundraising, including moves management, prospect research, securing face-to-face meetings, and soliciting donors in-person and in writing.
Proven success in major gifts, including cultivating and soliciting high-level gifts; excellent at building donor relations.
Broad knowledge of the principles of moves management and ability to successfully carry out all aspects of the gift cycle.
AA or BA degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience in a related field, and/or military service.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills plus virtual expertise.
Experience with donor management software/databases.
Experience utilizing Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, Teams and zoom.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Manage multiple tasks with an ability to reset priorities at any given time.

Must be able to lift 30 pounds on an occasional basis.

Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
The work environment when in the office is open space, with a noise level which is usually moderately quiet.

Licenses, Certificates and other requirements:
Must pass criminal background check.
Valid Washington State driver's license.
Reliable personal transportation.
Proof of personal automobile liability insurance.
Fully Vaccinated status against covid 19 required.
