with a very busy and thriving aerospace engineering/manufacturing
company in Redmond, WA that is seeking to hire a Senior Inspector.
You will be responsible for conducting final acceptance and
in-process tests and inspections on a variety of products.
Responsibilities: Reviews purchase orders, customer documents and
process documentation in preparation for conducting quality
conformance inspections and tests. Performs and documents First
Article Inspections using InspectionXpert and NetInspect software.
Reviews documentation requirements for FAI---s. Collects and
records inspection and test data; generates reports of inspection
and test results. Coordinates the activities and training of other
production inspectors assigned to the department. Prioritizes work
in the area in conjunction with Production Planning, Final Assembly
and Shipping. Works from work instructions, blueprints, engineering
drawings, and other specific procedures Performs inspections as
required utilizing conventional layout inspection techniques and
equipment Creates, completes, and compiles necessary documentation
related to Quality Inspection as per OEM and ISO/AS standards
Supports other Quality Department functions as needed Works
directly with Quality Supervisor for continuous improvement
Prepares non-conformance tags as required to achieve corrective
actions. Determines cause and responsibility for non-conformance
events. Prepares FAA required documentation. Performs in-process
and final inspections and tests in all production inspection
locations as required. Follows all company safety policies and
procedures. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Some
college or vocational courses in Quality Assurance is a plus. AA
degree in Quality Technology preferred. Two (2) years minimum of
broad electro-mechanical inspection experience, plus two (2) years
electro-mechanical manufacturing and soldering experience.
Experience in aerospace is strongly preferred. Position is of
advanced complexity requiring training and previous experience in
interpreting technical documentation and a working knowledge in the
use of a large variety of inspection tools including; photometers,
dimensional measuring equipment, multi-meters, power supplies,
hipot and resistance testers and other tools. Ability to read and
interpret technical specifications and drawings to plan inspections
and make independent determinations of product conformance.
Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) is
preferred. Basic computer skills required to enter data and
information using a variety of software programs for preparing test
reports, certifications and other forms of documentation and
reports. Industry certifications in soldering (J-STD-001 and
IPC-A-610) and wire harnessing (IPC-A-620) or equivalent strongly
preferred. Working Conditions: Photometric inspection requires
periods of up to two (2) hours in an unlit or dimly lit room.
Inspection activities may entail extended periods of sitting or
standing. Work involves electronic test equipment with high voltage
and care must be exercised to avoid electrical shock. Requires
occasional unplanned periods of overtime. Accountability:
Responsibility: Work is performed with minimal supervision and some
latitude and discretion applies in interpreting quality system
procedures. Decision Making: Responsible for determining product
compliance with customers--- requirements. Also responsible for
determining kind and character of certifications, test reports,
etc., that need to accompany shipments of products. External
Contacts: Assists in source inspections by customer and government
representative. Participates in quality system audits by customer
