ControlPOSITION Quality Control AssociateDescription Position
Summary: As a quality control associate you will be a key member of
the QC team. Each glassybaby must be sorted by team and inspected
for 20+ different flaw variables; results must be thoroughly
tracked in an inventory and production database. Because of the
handmade nature of our product, a successful QC staff member must
possess an artistic eye and a developed understanding of the glass
blowing process to assess the pieces on their own merits. They need
to be detail orientated, support the efficiency process of
glassybaby and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Primary
Duties: Examine new glassybaby for flaws and variations according
to standards Enter new inventory into spreadsheets with number of
firsts, seconds, error codes, teams, and transfer to different
departments Check glassybaby for rainbows (stress in the glass) and
place glassybaby with rainbows in bins to be re-annealed Print
labels and sticker firsts, then box them for transfer to warehouse
Work with QC Manager to ensure any quality issues (color, shape,
etc.) are documented and reported systematically to the glassblower
teams as appropriate Process seconds each week for transfer to
warehouse Take inventory of stock on hand (seconds, rainbows, and
any other product not associated with the store) at the end of each
month Responsible for keeping QC area tidy and orderly All other
duties as assignedPM21POSITION REQUIREMENTS Qualifications High
school diploma, GED or equivalent experience Demonstrated ability
to perform work in a team environment. Strong organizational skills
with a high standard of attention to detail. Ability to work some
weekends, holidays and on-call shifts when necessary. Professional,
courteous, and clear verbal communication skills. Self-starter and
proactive; able to work independently without supervision.
Excellent work ethic. Ability to multitask, managing many different
projects with varying degrees of urgency and frequent changes.
Ability to think quickly and critically, with excellent
problem-solving skills. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
products. Physical Demands: Ability to lift to 20 pounds. Frequent
standing and walking. Must be able to work in conditions that are
impacted by weather and climate. Must be able to speak and hear
well enough to conduct conversations. Vision abilities including
close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception
and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to work in an environment
where noise level is usually moderate. Regular use of hands to
finger, handle, or feet; must be able to reach with hands and arms.
