The Adaptive Systems and Interaction group at Microsoft Research
Redmond is looking for highly qualified candidates to advance the
state of the art in understanding and development of Responsible AI
with focus on real-world use of AI systems. Our group conducts
influential research published at top-tier venues in AI and HCI
(including AAAI, CHI, NeurIPS, ICML, and FAccT) and works within
Microsoft's Responsible AI ecosystem to impact our AI-driven
technologies such as Azure, Office, and Bing. We seek exceptional
researchers with a demonstrated ability for independent research
and a strong record of influential publications on Artificial
Intelligence and Human Computer Interaction. An ideal candidate is
passionate about understanding the impact of AI systems on people
and society. Particular topics of interest include, but not limited
to: Fairness, reliability & robustness of AI systems, security of
AI systems, Responsible AI investigations of NLP, computer vision
and multi-modal systems, advances in AI interpretability and
human-AI collaboration. Prospective candidates must have finished
their PhD with academic and/or industry experience. Candidates must
have a strong publication record in leading AI/ML/HCI conferences
and must demonstrate leadership in leading ambitious research
