Job Description:

Our client, a growing & well-funded biopharmaceutical company focused on the treatment of cancer is seeking a Scientist/Sr. Scientist in Cell Science Development! The team is comprised of highly experienced immuno-oncology scientists using multiple technology platforms to develop advanced ABD therapies.
Responsibilities:

  • Independently design and execute protocols for scalable stable expression of recombinant proteins in CHO cells
  • Use statistical design of experiments approaches to optimize protein production using re-usable bioreactor (3L or 15L); perform bioreactor activities such as inoculation, feeding, sampling, and harvesting
  • Perform upstream duties, including but not limited to media preparation, cell culture analyzer operation and maintenance, bioreactor assembly and cleaning
  • Support the cell line development (CLD) team through participation in vector cloning, stable transfection, minipool selection, single cell cloning, expansion, and characterization of CHO cells for recombinant protein production
  • Prepare SOP and maintain lab instruments for upstream processing
  • Interpret data independently, and contributes to technical reports, including technology transfer if needed
    Required skills:
    • PhD with 3+ years, or a MS with 10+ years of experience in cell culture
    • Experience with upstream process development is required
    • Strong background in mammalian cell culture and protein expression.
    • Ability to support early-stage upstream cGMP manufacturing.
    • Excellent coordination skills and able to work on multiple different projects at the same time
