Job Description:
Summary of Position:
The ASIC System Engineer will be responsible for managing the
installation, configuration, and maintenance of the ASIC design
tools. This position will operate ASIC-distributed systems and
diagnose and resolve complex problems with the ASIC-distributed
systems and design tools. This position will ensure that the
customer tools are available and functioning optimally and will
work closely with the engineering team to troubleshoot any issues
that arise.
Essential Functions:
Manage the installation, configuration, and maintenance of ASIC
design tools
Install, configure, and maintain ASIC design tools, such as
Synopsys, Cadence, and Mentor Graphics tools
Manage licenses and ensure that they are properly configured and
utilized
Ensure customer tools are available and functioning optimally, and
work closely with the engineering team to troubleshoot any issues
that arise
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot any issues that
arise
Develop and maintain scripts and tools to automate tasks and
improve system efficiency
Maintain documentation on the installation, configuration, and use
of our ASIC design tools
Stay up to date with new versions and updates of ASIC design tools
and evaluate their usefulness for our projects
Ensure that all ASIC tool-related processes adhere to industry
standards and best practices
Collaborate with the ASIC design team to deliver accurate and
competitive ASIC design solutions
Work with customer requirements and wireless system teams to define
modems, high-speed interfaces, embedded processors, and DSP
solutions in the latest CMOS generation technologies
Create product design specification (PDS) statements for ASIC,
optimize logic design, and create architectural design models

Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional warehouse environment. This
role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers,
phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those
that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the
essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee in this
position frequently communicates with other co-workers/clients who
have inquiries about the various projects and other needs. Must be
able to exchange accurate information in these situations. The
employee must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the
time. The employee in this position needs to occasionally move
about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery,
etc. Constantly operate a computer and office machinery such as a
calculator, keyboard, copy machine, and printer. Frequently moves
boxes with equipment weighing up to 25lbs across the building
and/or to other offsite buildings for various project needs.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical / Computer Engineering or related
field, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience as a System Administrator, with experience
managing ASIC design tools
2+ years of experience configuring, installing, and maintaining
ASIC design tools, such as Synopsys, Cadence, and Mentor Graphics
tools
2+ years of experience implementing and administering AWS services
including EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, Dynamo DB, etc.
Knowledge of EDA design flows and industry-standard design
tools
Familiarity with Unix/Linux operating systems
Experience with scripting languages such as Tcl, Perl, or
Python
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to work well in a team and collaborate effectively with
others
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Computer Science fundamentals in data structures, OS, Networking,
problem solving, and performance tuning
The ability to deal with ambiguity and drive, design, and implement
large scale systems
Experience building and maintaining AWS systems is required
Industry certifications such as Synopsys Certified Integration
Professional (SCIP), Cadence OrCAD Certification, or Mentor
Graphics Verification Academy Certification are highly
desirable.
