Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)
Working under close supervision the successful individual will:
60% - Devise, select, set-up and operate electronic
instrumentation, transducers, signal conditioners, and data
acquisition equipment and related electromechanical or
electro-hydraulicapparatus used for operational and environmental
testing of liquid bipropellant rocket engines.
20% - Configure software menus for calibration factors, sampling
10% - Perform electronic component installation and soldering.
10% - Use knowledge of measurement sensors such as pressure, flow,
temperature, etc. to troubleshoot complex data measurement systems
from source to recording device.
Requires an Associate's degree in an appropriate discipline (such
as instrumentation, electronics, control and data acquisition or
four (4) years of equivalent combination of education and

Requires the ability to read electrical schematics and be highly
competent working with computers, controllers and running software
Experience working around hazardous materials or environments

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

The work environment may require a combination of indoor and
outdoor activity (hot, cold, wet, humid conditions) with a varied
amount of walking, standing, sitting, climbing (i.e. ladders,
stair, scaffolding, ramps), balance (maintaining body equilibrium
to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow,
slippery, or erratically moving surfaces), bending, reaching,
handling/fingering (seizing, holding, grasping, turning picking,
pinching), stooping, kneeling, crouching and ability to
lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties
of this job, employees may work around variable noise levels. May
require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety
glasses, safety shoes, ear protection, and shop coat. May also be
required to work in a standard office setting and to use standard
office equipment, including a computer. Ability to distinguish
colors may also be necessary. May require the ability to travel by
air or auto. This position is expected to work a weekend shift to
ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
