SOURCING SPECIALIST, MECHANICAL (STARLINK) As a member of the Starlink Supply Chain team, you will support an elite group of engineers to source mechanical assemblies for our Starlink Satellite Constellation. Our team moves quickly and you must too. SpaceX has the unique ability and desire to influence and shape suppliers to be better with us as we challenge our supply chain on cost, quality and speed of execution. The functions within the department include procurement, planning and fulfillment, supplier development and quality, logistics and inventory. RESPONSIBILITIES:+ Ensure health of supply base by evaluating and selecting suppliers based on capability, quality, reliability, and price competitiveness+ Ensure supplier meets all critical measures of performance consistently by consistently executing on an operating plan with clear goals and control plans+ Execute purchasing transactions within scope area by issuing purchase orders for SpaceX programs and ensure delivery+ Manage all relevant master data in MRP to ensure accurate and complete information at all times+ Administer moderate to large contracts and independently negotiate with supplier's contract terminology, pricing, technical requirements, scope and terms involving responsibility, liability, indemnification, intellectual property and export compliance+ Analyze supplier operations to assess technical capability, equipment, and capacity for rapid deployment of new product development and long-term production+ Execute initiatives that support aggressive improvements in supplier quality, total cost effectiveness, enhanced service levels, improved coordination, delivery, pricing, lead-times, payment, risk compliance and other areas as identified+ Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders, understanding their needs and consulting with them to build quality procurement strategies aligned to business requirements+ Be the voice of reason and push engineering to make sound design decisions that are conducive to a high performing supply plan BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:+ Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of experience working in a supply chain, production, or engineering function PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: + 2+ years of professional experience in technical sourcing, procurement, or planning+ Experience with harnessing and connectors buying, planning, or production + Experience with MRP or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and with managing bill of materials, work orders, and purchase orders + American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) certification, Six Sigma certification, or similar certifications+ Experience with forecasting, demand planning, and lead time analysis+ Experience with raw materials and components movement among multiple nodes, inventory tracking/management+ Experience in electrical, electronic and electro-mechanical (EEE) components+ Experience reading datasheets, drawings and blueprints+ Strong skills in data analysis using Excel, SQL and PowerBI+ Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, cross functional environment, independently and in a team+ Demonstrated efficiency in time management, interpersonal communication, and organization+ Proven track record of leadership and team building skills+ Ability to learn quickly and prioritize appropriately to meet customer and company needs+ Detail-oriented, self-motivated and able to respond quickly to a fast-moving and ever-changing environment+ Ability to conduct all activities with the highest of integrity ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:+ Ability to travel and work extended hours/weekends as neededITAR REQUIREMENTS:+ To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
