Job OverviewAerojet Rocketdyne is seeking an Instrumentation Technician to join our team in Redmond, Washington. In this role, you will be part of our Test Lab where you will work in a team environment to ensure the successful set-up and operation of data acquisition, instrumentation, and test equipment in a neat and orderly work area.About Us is the Trusted Disruptor for the global aerospace and defense industry.   • Beautiful Campus - Large campus with forested trail, basketball court, fitness center, covered bicycle parking, and outdoor gazebosEssential FunctionsWorking under close supervision the successful individual will:60% - Devise, select, set-up and operate electronic instrumentation, transducers, signal conditioners, and data acquisition equipment and related electromechanical or electro-hydraulic apparatus used for operational and environmental testing of liquid bipropellant rocket engines.20% - Configure software menus for calibration factors, sampling rates, etc.10% - Perform electronic component installation and soldering.10% - Use knowledge of measurement sensors such as pressure, flow, temperature, etc. to troubleshoot complex data measurement systems from source to recording device.RequirementsAssociate's Degree in an appropriate discipline (such as instrumentation, electronics, control and data acquisition) and 1 year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.Additional Requirements and Preferred Qualifications:
    • Requires the ability to read electrical schematics and be highly competent working with computers, controllers and running software programs.
    • Experience working around hazardous materials or environments needed.
    • This role requires participation in our Emergency Response Team and respirator certification.
    • Experience with installing and integrating PLC systems is desirable.Requires U.S. Citizenship or status as a U.S. Person. Must be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.Work Environment and Physical Requirements:Workplace includes areas where chemical materials are encountered. The work environment may require a combination of indoor and outdoor activity (hot, cold, wet, humid conditions) with a varied amount of walking, standing, sitting, climbing (i.e. ladders, stair, scaffolding, ramps), balance (maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces), bending, reaching, handling/fingering (seizing, holding, grasping, turning picking, pinching), stooping, kneeling, crouching and ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, employees may work around variable noise levels. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, ear protection, and shop coat. May also be required to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer. Ability to distinguish colors may also be necessary. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. This position is expected to work a weekend shift to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.Pay range for this position:24.52 - 33.97 per hour Note about pay range:Pay range for this job level is a general guideline only for California and/or Washington State and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
