Home Care is non profit multicultural social service agency. Are
you excited about this Domestic Violence Victim Advocate Pierce
County job? As a Domestic Violence Victim Advocate at the Korean
Women's Association, you will provide essential trauma-informed
advocacy services to survivors of intimate partner violence. Your
role includes answering WAFHOME’s 24-hour hotline, conducting the
screening process for shelter placements, and offering crisis
intervention and referrals for those seeking assistance. You will
effectively develop safety plans with survivors and facilitate
one-on-one and group sessions to educate shelter residents about
the dynamics of domestic violence, such as recognizing signs of
abuse and understanding healthy relationships. What matters most To
excel as a Domestic Violence Victim Advocate with the Korean
Women's Association, candidates must possess a diverse skill set
and relevant experience. Proficiency in the MS Office Suite,
including Excel, Word, and Outlook is essential, alongside strong
organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities to manage
multiple priorities effectively. Bilingualism is preferred to
enhance communication with a diverse client base. A solid
understanding of gender-based violence issues, along with knowledge
of available service area resources, is critical for providing
informed advocacy. A minimum of one year of experience in social or
human services, particularly in victim/survivor advocacy and crisis
intervention, is preferred, along with experience in a domestic
violence shelter or transitional housing environment. Additionally,
candidates should be prepared to complete initial and ongoing DV
advocacy training to ensure they remain current in best practices
for supporting survivors. Strong organizational, analytical, and
problem-solving skills; ability to handle multiple priorities, High
School Diploma or foreign equivalent required, Some college or AA
degree (any humanities) preferred, Minimum of one (1) year
experience in social or human services preferred, Experience in
victim/survivor advocacy and crisis intervention/counseling
preferred, Experience working in a DV shelter or transitional
housing environment preferred, Completion of initial 20 hours of DV
advocacy training, Complete a minimum of 20 hours continued
