Role: The Children's Ministry Support role is dedicated to
fostering a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children
within a faith-based community. This position plays a crucial part
in assisting with the planning, coordination, and execution of
programs and activities that promote spiritual growth and social
development among children. The role involves collaborating closely
with ministry leaders, volunteers, and families to ensure that all
children feel welcomed and supported. Additionally, the position
requires attentiveness to the individual needs of children,
providing guidance and encouragement in alignment with the
ministry's values. Ultimately, this role contributes to building a
strong foundation for children's faith journeys and community
involvement. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or
equivalent. Experience working with children in educational,
recreational, or ministry settings. Basic knowledge of child
development principles and safety protocols. Strong interpersonal
and communication skills. Ability to pass background checks and
comply with child protection policies. Preferred Qualifications:
Associate or bachelor's degree in education, theology, social work,
or a related field. Previous experience in a children's ministry or
faith-based organization. Certification in first aid and CPR.
Training in child psychology or counseling. Familiarity with
curriculum development for children's religious education.
Responsibilities: Assist in organizing and facilitating
age-appropriate educational and recreational activities for
children. Support ministry leaders in preparing lesson materials,
resources, and event logistics. Ensure a safe and inclusive
environment by adhering to child protection policies and monitoring
children's well-being during activities. Communicate effectively
with parents and guardians regarding program schedules, updates,
and children's progress. Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers
to assist with children's ministry events and daily operations.
Skills: The required skills enable the candidate to effectively
engage with children, ensuring their safety and fostering their
spiritual and social growth through well-organized activities.
Strong communication skills are essential for collaborating with
ministry leaders, volunteers, and families to create a cohesive
support system. Organizational abilities help in managing multiple
tasks such as event planning, volunteer coordination, and resource
preparation. Preferred skills like curriculum development and
counseling knowledge enhance the ability to tailor programs to
children's developmental needs and provide additional emotional
support. Overall, these skills combine to create a supportive,
dynamic, and enriching environment that aligns with the ministry's
mission.
